Jeff
Maxey
Having
been in the field of aquatics since 1985, Jeff Maxey has enjoyed a
tremendous opportunity to collect expertise in all facets of aquatic
facility design, construction, operation, and maintenance. Working
as an Aquatics Supervisor with such notable agencies as Foothills
Park and Recreation District, City of Thornton Recreation Division,
North Jeffco Park and Recreation District, and the Town of Castle
Rock, Jeff has developed a thorough knowledge of successful aquatic
facility operation. Jeff was fully involved with the planning,
development, design, construction and operation of the 89,000 square
foot
Margaret Carpenter Recreation Center
in
Thornton, and the 126,000 square foot
APEX Center
in Arvada.
Recognizing the need for quality aquatic consulting in Colorado and
surrounding states, Maxey Aquatics LLC was incorporated in 2002 to
offer unparalleled training programs and consulting services to that
area. Since its incorporation, Maxey Aquatics has trained thousands
of aquatic professionals in matters including, but not limited to,
water chemistry, risk management, water treatment, operational
management, aquatic facility design, and maintenance. Through
consulting representation, Jeff has been part of the design and
construction of several aquatic facilities within the state of
Colorado and has offered technical support, design consultation,
modernization planning, feasibility studies, and troubleshooting to
countless aquatic facilities.
Jeff has
held Instructor Trainer Certifications in Risk Management
curriculums by the American Red Cross and the National Pool and
Waterpark Organization as backed by Ellis and Associates Risk
Management Firm. He was the State of Colorado’s National Faculty
Advisory Committee representative for the American Red Cross’
Lifeguard Training rollout in 1997 and sat on the oversight
committee for the re-development of the Colorado State Board of
Health Swimming Pool and Mineral Bath Regulations in 1993. Jeff most
recently re-entered the full-time aquatics field with the Town of
Castle Rock and was instrumental in the design consultation of their
new leisure pool addition totaling 12,000 square feet and 3.6
million dollars.
Clay Shuck
Clay has been active in the filed of aquatics since 1985 and is
currently a Facility Coordinator for the City of Colorado Springs
Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department. He has presented
at both state and national conferences on emergency and chemical
procedures, management, and as a national trainer for the American Red
Cross Lifeguarding program. He holds
Instructor/Instructor Trainer rating for the American Red Cross in WSI,
LG, First-aid/CPR/AED, and Emergency Response. Clay is certified as an
AFO, CPO, State of Colorado Emergency Medical Technician, Hazardous
Materials First Responder, and Confined Space Entry. Mr. Shuck is a
member of the NRPA Aquatics Branch, National Aquatic Council, CPRA, and
Volunteer Co-Chair of the Pikes Peak Chapter of the American Red Cross
Education Committee.
Brad
Anderson
Brad has a BA in Education and has
been actively involved in the field of Aquatics since 1985. He has been
instructing CPO since 1996 and earned his AFO instructor credentials in
2005. He has presented various topics at World Water Park Association
Symposiums. His variety of aquatic expertise include; mechanical,
technical, staffing, customer service and safety. He is certified AFO,
CPO, WSI, NPWNPL Lifeguard and PADI Dive Master. He holds instructor
credentials in AFO, CPO, NPWNPL Lifeguard, American Heart Assoc.
CPR/First Aid and is an American Red Cross WSI Instructor Trainer. Brad
is currently the Aquatic Facility/Program Supervisor for the City of
Englewood and operates
Pirates Cove Family Aquatic Center where he was instrumental in all
phases from concept, design, construction and operations. His
professional insights and experience on Site Management, Fiscal Savings
and Character Diseases keeps the audience focused.
