National
Certification Training
Certified Pool Operator Course (CPO):
This
course provides extensive information on all the technical aspects
of pool operation. Topics include water chemistry, filtration,
mechanical operation, circulation, risk management, preventative
maintenance, renovation and modernization, heating and energy and
more. Backed by the National Swimming Pool Foundation (NSPF), in
conjunction with the National Swimming Pool Institute (NSPI), CPO
still remains the state and national industry requirement for pool
operators.
Aquatic
Facility Operator (AFO):
Emerging
as the new industry standard, AFO offers all the technical
information with greater emphasis on design, risk management,
leadership and repair. Due to the immense instructor screening
process, Jeff Maxey is one of only four AFO instructors in the state
of Colorado. This program is backed by the National Recreation and
Park Association (NRPA), Professional Pool Operators of America (PPOA),
and the National Certification Board (NCB). Jeff currently sits on
the Advisory Board to the AFO program and contributed as a Subject
Matter Expert in the recent effort to rewrite the exam to bring the
program full in compliance with the National Certification Board.
